Picnic off the Trompetta Road

On Tuesday this was crisp and parched. We ate in silence gazing down on the terraces of fruitless trees towards the north coast of Corfu. Today it will be soaked and full of sprouting green. I thought later how Lin's photo looked rather like one of Edward Lear's wonderful landscapes made sometime between 1856-64 and now in the Victoria and Albert Museum. He was looking north from south of Corfu Town - from Ascension, which I don't know.
