Sunday morning the rain comes but on Saturday evening a stage was set up in the platea of Ayios Ioannis for Steve Gibbons and colleagues from the
Dylan Project, supported by local musicians, with an impressive debut by Jemma Bartlett, daughter of Russ, one of local duo, the
Good Old Boys – everything better for the feeling of being slightly unofficial. Production was polished but the audience – made up of ticket buyers and villagers could sit, stroll, dance, chat with the performers, eat and drink, and enjoy each other’s company on a balmy evening. Now and then a gentle breeze stirred the trees that edged the square. The presenter for local group
Omega 5, supported by Greek translation, held things stylishly together leading towards the stars who once started played an hour beyond the programme’s midnight limit. Our friend Paul of
OCAY Property Services conceived
Agiotfest, sharing the risk with Corfu businesses, donating profits to local charities.
